Each course title listed on the technology based training course directory has an instructor led applications session associated with it. Utilizing the digital bookend approach to transferring knowledge, we provide customized content for instructor led workshops that provide applications of the content.
OPTION ONE: (Traditional ILT)
Instructor led courses can be offered in a variety of options. We can provide traditional instructor led courses with skilled facilitators who have the subject matter expertise to lead the application sessions.
OPTION TWO: (Learning Maps)
These applications sessions can also include design and customization of 'learning maps' as a modality to create interactive exercises that allow participants a chance to leverage their learning through detailed discussions with their teams and/or peers.
OPTION THREE: (Train-The-Trainer 3T)
Based on the needs of an organization, this instructor led design can also be delivered in a train-the-trainer (3T) models. This approach is often the most cost effective method for large multinational organizations.
ILT: INSTRUCTOR LED COURSES
The use of technology based methods of delivering content has become increasing more prevalent in organizations. The primary benefit of utilizing technology to deliver training is based on costs.
Best practices incorporate the use of technology as a digital bookend to provide clarity of terms, definitions, and meaning before participation in instructor led curriculum.
3T: TRAIN-THE-TRAINER COURSES
Train-the-trainer sessions are designed to prepare designated HR personnel, facilitators, and trainers to present our licensed content effectively, respond to participant questions and lead activities that reinforce learning.
They also direct participants to supplementary resources and reference materials. Instructors learn to lead discussions, listen effectively, make accurate observations and help participants to link training to their jobs. They learn to maintain eye contact, maintain a positive attitude, speak in a clear voice, gesture appropriately, and maintain interest and dispel confusion.
Most organizational training classes use the traditional 'death' by overhead approach to training which involves participants observing slides, taking notes and having a limited number of times they actually interact with each other and the course facilitator.
We utilize learning maps to transfer the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. A ‘learning map’ is a graphic representation of the information to be taught in a workshop. It is designed to allow the participants to interact in a consistent and structured method that enhances the effective assimilation of the designed learning points.
The learning map displays major learning concepts on a two dimensional grid / map that allows participants to better understand the intended learning and how to apply it to their specific situations through discussions and interactions with peers. Some studies have explored the best ways to increase the level of retention from things we have been taught.
The results have indicated the following factors are part of why simply going through training with PowerPoint may not be the most effective way to retain what we are taught. One study found we retain:
